Neste marco, a banca está no epicentro da crise actual, xa que é un pilar fundamental no funcionamento deste capitalismo neoliberal, globalizado e sustentado na economía financeira (xerando beneficios a través da especulación, sen achegar nada á sociedade).
Os mesmos gobernos e institucións internacionais que lle deron toda a liberdade á banca para que inflase a burbulla financeira e inmobiliaria, xerando inmensos beneficios para sí mesma e para as transnacionais, e permitindo que a economía especulativa e de alto risco invadise o mercado, invéntanse o G-20 para ”democratizar” a saída da crise. Ata o momento, o G-20 só demostrou ser un instrumento máis ó servizo das institucións financeiras internacionais e dos estados máis poderosos e industrializados do planeta, non permitindo o acceso ós páises que máis padecen a crise e faltando ás súas propias promesas, como a de rematar cos paraísos fiscais.
Nestes anos eliminouse a imposición dun límite físico á emisión de moeda (antigamente marcada pola equivalencia co ouro) e o sistema de cambio fixo entre moedas; liberalizouse a circulación de capitais a escala internacional, e garantiuse que o sistema bancario e financeiro fose o máis opaco posíbel, co segredo bancario e os paraisos fiscais, e que as operacións á marxe de calqueira regulación dominen as finanzas. A mais disto, permitiuse que os bancos só teñan que ter en reserva un 8% do capital co que operan. Isto supón que a economía ao completo funciona con cartos que non son reais, cun endebedamento monstruoso baseado na confianza de futuros beneficios que poden darse ou non…

É imposíbel que as medidas impostas por institucións deste sistema poidan evitar ou solucionar os desastres que elas mesmas crearon, pola contra só fan reproducilas e agravalas unha e outra vez.
Por todo isto, afirmamos que só as medidas que veñan realmente da loita e a mobilización social, encamiñadas ao reparto xusto da riqueza, á defensa do territorio, ao desenmascaramento da ideoloxía do progreso capitalista, e ao respecto dos dereitos humanos (así como á extensión dos dereitos laborais e sociais para tódalas persoas, á conservación e ampliación dos servizos públicos, e á gratuidade de tódolos ámbitos da nosa vida) poderán dar lugar a cambios positivos e duradeiros no sistema económico e camiñar cara unha sociedade máis xusta.
