Séculos de existencia dun modo de vida rural quedaron de súpeto truncados por decisións políticas tomadas a moitos quilómetros de Coia: a construción dun polígono de vivendas no marco das políticas de desenvolvemento do tardo-franquismo.

Para a veciñanza da Coia “antiga” os cambios foron moitos e moi rápidos: construción de torres onde antes existían leiras, crecemento explosivo da poboación coa chegada de familias que viñan a traballar na industria viguesa, urbanización do espazo sen contar cos intereses dos habitantes…

Con este faladoiro queremos achegarnos ás vivencias de persoas que xa estaban en Coia antes do polígono: como viviron a súa construción, que trocos supuxo para eles converter a parroquia tradicional nun barrio residencial, que botaron en falta en toda a transformación…
