Los movimientos especializados de Acción Católica para la evangelización del Mundo Obrero: JOC (Juventud Obrera Cristiana), MTC (Mujeres Trabajadoras Cristianas) y HOAC (Hermandad Obrera de Acción Católica) presentamos el comunicado “Mirar la realidad con esperanza” con motivo de la celebración del 1º de mayo, Día del Trabajo.
El 1º de Mayo es para nuestros movimientos tiempo de reflexión y discernimiento, de renovación del compromiso y de celebración de nuestra fe en el acontecer del mundo obrero y del trabajo.
Como parte de la Iglesia, debemos discernir desde el Evangelio los signos de los tiempos.
Un discernimiento que a nosotros, movimientos de Acción Católica en el mundo obrero y del trabajo, nos hace preguntarnos cómo se anuncia y manifiesta la salvación de Dios en la realidad social que hoy vive el mundo del trabajo y qué es lo que está truncando su proyecto de fraternidad y justicia universal.
¿Hay hoy día buenas noticias para las personas empobrecidas?
Nuestro discernimiento nos debe ayudar a descubrir lo que en el actual contexto histórico, en las condiciones de vida y trabajo de tantas familias, existe como freno y ocultamiento del Reino de Dios, para transformar la realidad y colaborar a construir humanidad. Es la vida humana, lo más importante para Dios, lo que está en juego.
La pobreza, agravada por la crisis actual y por la mercantilización y precarización del trabajo, es un signo de la negación de Dios porque niega a la persona humana. Las causas de la crisis económica que padecemos y las distintas políticas que, desde hace años se vienen poniendo en marcha, siguen profundizando en una desigualdad estructural que sufre el mundo obrero y del trabajo, especialmente las personas más débiles: desempleadas, jóvenes, mujeres, inmigrantes…
Las reformas laborales, la reforma de las pensiones, las políticas de austeridad presupuestaria y de reducción en gastos sociales, la búsqueda de la competitividad a través de una devaluación interna de las condiciones de vida y trabajo de la ciudadanía, además de no contar con el respaldo de toda la comunidad política y económica, dentro y fuera de nuestras fronteras, siguen ahondando en un modelo social, profundamente inmoral. Así se niega el principio básico de humanidad que Juan Pablo II reclamaba:
“las necesidades de los pobres deben tener preferencia sobre los derechos de los ricos; los derechos de los trabajadores, sobre el incremento de los beneficios”
(Toronto, 14 de septiembre de 2004).
Nuestra experiencia de encuentro con Jesucristo Resucitado nos hace mirar también la realidad con esperanza. En ella encontramos muchos signos que anuncian el Reino de Dios y su justicia. La vida de muchos hombres y mujeres del trabajo, de los jóvenes, sus ansias de justicia y de dignidad, sus experiencias de lucha y solidaridad, de organización y de cooperación, el reclamo de otro mundo posible, de parroquias y comunidades cristianas enraizadas en barrios obreros, de muchos militantes obreros cristianos, son testimonio de resurrección.
Este 1º de Mayo es también para nosotros un tiempo de acción evangelizadora y de compromiso transformador. Por eso, muchas y muchos de nosotros, estaremos presentes en los actos y/o manifestaciones que en ese día reclaman derechos sociales y laborales, porque entendemos que son un deber de justicia.
La experiencia del amor de Dios en nosotros queremos convertirla en amor a nuestros hermanos, compañeros y compañeras del mundo obrero y del trabajo al que pertenecemos. Un amor del que no podemos separar la lucha por la justicia.
Es tiempo, por tanto, de la caridad política que se ha de plasmar:
En formas de vida, personal y comunitaria, que propongan y hagan visibles estilos de vida alternativos, austeros, sostenibles y solidarios.
En compromiso en las organizaciones del mundo obrero, para que éstas coloquen en el centro de sus reivindicaciones y proyectos a los sectores más empobrecidos.
En denuncia de las políticas que generan desigualdad y rompen la vida humana y el desarrollo del trabajo como principio de vida.
En gestos que prioricen la preocupación por el mundo del trabajo en las planificaciones de nuestras Iglesias diocesanas.
En la difusión y fidelidad de los principios y orientaciones que la Doctrina Social de la Iglesia propone.
Así ayudaremos a la sociedad a encontrar respuestas éticas a la actual crisis que vivimos.
Esta acción y compromiso son fundamentales para ofrecer a Jesucristo como Buena Noticia en el mundo obrero y del trabajo, como propuesta de vida personal y social.
Por último, este 1º de Mayo es, también para nuestros movimientos, un tiempo de celebración de nuestra fe en el acontecer de nuestras vidas de trabajadores. En todas las diócesis españolas se llevarán a cabo Eucaristías, vigilias de oración, encuentros… donde celebraremos que Cristo sigue acompañando nuestras vidas y nuestras luchas, sigue acompañando al mundo obrero y del trabajo que sigue sufriendo.
