En menos de 10 anos, só neste sector, os mal chamados “accidentes” laborais cobráronse a vida de 273 traballadores/as.

Colectivos de defensa dos dereitos laborais como a Campaña Roupa Limpa, seguimos constatando, a través das denuncias que nos fan chegar as traballadoras e de investigacións propias que as condicións de traballo e de vida nos países onde se fabrica a nosa roupa seguen sendo dantescas: á inseguridade laboral e os salarios de miseria, súmanse xornadas de até 21 horas, horas extraordinarias obrigatorias e non remuneradas e intimidación, acoso e despedimentos ao/as que tratan de formar un sindicato para mellorar as súas condicións de traballo.

O emprego que se xera nestas condicións de traballo lonxe de contribuír ao Desenvolvemento perpetúa ás persoas na pobreza.

Por iso é difícil de entender que se deixe a vixilancia dos dereitos humanos en mans de quen fan negocio co seu incumprimento. Fronte á Responsabilidade Social Corporativa das transnacionais reclamamos esixibilidade xurídica. Cantos suicidios e mortes necesitamos máis para virar a cabeza e ver o que pasa alén do mundo?
