Despois de realizar un análisis pormenorizado sobre as necesidades sociais da zona centro onde se ubica o inmoble, a Xunta de Galicia tomou a decisión de destinalo a unha escola infantil e a un centro de apoio ao empregador.
A escola infantil ubicarase entre a planta semisoto e a planta baixa, e contará con sete aulas nas que se ofertarán 90 prazas, mentras que a oficina do empregador instalarase na primeira planta.
Esta solución supón o aproveitamento total da inversión de 240.000 euros xa realizada ata este momento.

Vigo, 12 de novembro de 2009.- O edificio do centro Fogar San Paio ou máis coñecido coma Gota de Leche destinarase finalmente a albergar unha escola infantil e unha oficina de apoio ao empregador e centro de formación. Seguindo a liña da propia Consellería de Traballo e Benestar, o edificio da Gota de Leche será un centro interxeneracional que combinará dous usos sociais determinados e dirixidos ás áreas de traballo por unha banda, e de benestar social, por outra, dando así resposta ás necesidades actuais da zona e da época de crise que atravesa o país.
Esta mañá, a delegada territorial da Xunta en Vigo, Lucía Molares, acompañada pola secretaria xeral de Familia e Benestar, Susana López Abella, e a directora xeral de Formación e Colocación, Ana María Díaz López, deron a coñecer os usos concretos aos que se destinará o nobre edificio ubicado en pleno centro da cidade viguesa. As representantes do Goberno autonómico explicaron que despois de analizar pormenorizadamente as necesidades reais da zona centro así coma a actual situación de crise económica-financeira, onde o apoio ás familias, aos traballadores e ás empresas é o primordial, a solución para o edificio do Fogar San Paio pasaba pola dotación dun centro que dera solución a estes dous aspectos, sendo unha escola infantil e unha oficina de apoio ao empregador a mellor opción.
Así, no que respecta á escola infantil, a Xunta de Galicia optou por esta posibilidade xa que na actualidade non existe oferta pública ningunha na zona de influencia da que falamos. Segundo un informe realizado pola Delegación Territorial da Xunta en Vigo, nas áreas de García Barbón-Areal, Porta do Sol, San Roque, Venezuela, O Castro, Camelias, Falperra, Chouzo, Peniche, Travesas e Salgueira non existe oferta pública de escolas infantís, co que determina a necesidade de contar cunha dotación social deste tipo na zona centro. A día de hoxe, a Xunta de Galicia oferta unhas 427 prazas en seis centros infantís da cidade (Coia, Bouzas, Caeiro, Relfas, Vigo e no Edificio da Xunta) ademais de conceder uns 376 cheques infantís. Por estes motivos, e tendo en conta tamén a idoneidade do edificio así coma a súa ubicación nunha zona na que existen moitos centros escolares, administrativos e comerciais, a mellor opción era unha escola infantil.
Con todo, a escola infantil ubicaríase entre a planta semisoto e a planta baixa ademais de recuperar a zona axardinada exterior que se dotaría dunha ampla zona de xogos. Así, terá sete aulas nas que se dará cabida a uns 90 nenos e nenas de entre 0 e 3 anos. Pola súa banda, a oficina de apoio ao empregador e centro de formación ocupará unha superficie de 595 metros cadrados da primeira planta do edificio da Gota de Leche. A Consellería de Traballo e Benestar optou por esta opción debido a actual situación de desemprego e dificultades polas que atravesan moitos cidadáns e empresas. Por este motivo, optouse por ubicar en pleno centro da cidade viguesa este proxecto piloto que busca ser unha ferramenta máis útil para mellorar a intermediación laboral e que ofrecerá servizos complementarios ás oficinas de emprego. Así, ofrecerá apoio na definición das ofertas de emprego, nos procesos de selección, fará un control e seguemento das ofertas, informará en materia de contratación laboral e dos incentivos á mesma, porá a disposición do empregador medios técnicos e locais ademais de ofrecer información e apoio de emprendedores. Para iso, contará cunhas amplas dotacións coma despachos individuais para uso dos empregadores con todos os equipamentos necesarios, salas de reunións, aula de formación e exposición con medios audiovisuais, zona común para os técnicos do Servizo Público de Emprego e os usuarios e, por último, servizos comúns.
