O Foro Social Galego (FSGal) é un espazo aberto de debate democrático de ideas, de afondamento da reflexión, formulación de propostas, intercambio de experiencias e artellamento de movementos sociais, redes, ongs e outras organizacións da sociedade civil que se opoñen ao neoliberalismo e ao asoballamento das persoas fronte ao capital e que denuncian calquera forma de imperialismo. O lema do FSGal é: Pensar e construír alternativas desde Galiza.
Dentro dun mes o FSGal celebrará un encontro en Santiago do 5-7 de decembro no que pensarán alternativas para construír outra Galicia e outro mundo.

Só facéndonos realmente visíbeis diante do labirinto socio-político e mediático do país poderemos algún día influír realmente nas decisións que toma o poder e, xa que logo, ser un contrapoder a ter moi en conta. Temos as alternativas, mais non logramos que estas se vexan. Velaí unha das nosas grandes eivas e velaí un dos obxectivos urxentes dos movementos.
Eivas globais, eivas locais
Disque toda crise é tamén oportunidade. De cambio, claro está. A conxuntura global multicrise que nos rodea –crises ecolóxica, enerxética, alimentaria e financeira como resume delas– ten pois que ser aproveitada polos movementos sociais para amosar á sociedade que existen alternativas válidas á relixión economicista e militarista que, especialmente dende hai tres décadas, leva a humanidade e o planeta ao desastre.
Mentres no cumio da pirámide os poderosos falan de refundacións, de maquillaxes, de exquisitos clubes como o G-8 ou o G-20, dun Bretton Woods II, de novas (des)regulamentacións e dun outro capitalismo; os movementos aínda non fomos quen de erguer a voz para explicar nidiamente á sociedade –salvo nalgúns casos en América Latina, berce do Foro Social Mundial– cales son as nosas alternativas para chegar ao tan cacarexado outro mundo posíbel. Témolas? Abofé que si, mais a poderosa estrutura político-mediática co que o poder foi fornecéndose durante todo o nocivo proceso de globalización encárgase de agachalas con fantástica efectividade. A atomización dos nosos colectivos, o feito de que os recelos pesen moitas veces máis cós obxectivos polos que loitamos e a moi mellorábel colaboración entre os movementos fai o resto, todo hai que dicilo.
Deste xeito, o imprescindíbel traballo de base do amplo e hetereoxéneo espectro de movementos sociais da Galiza fica as mais das veces mergullado no máis periférico e invisíbel dunha arañeira social, política e mediática que está tecida para ser totalmente desfavorábel e hostil a todo o que signifique resistencia, nova proposta ou mesmo alternativa. Calquera activista do país noso viviu algún día, senón todos e todas, nas súas carnes a frustración de ver como os seus esforzos por facer visíbel esta ou aquela loita ficaban en van. E nesta visibilización está a clave para que cada día máis xente do país se sume ao activismo contra o sistema. Porque é diso do que falamos. Ou non?
As loitas son moitas, sabémolo ben, mais os efectivos para dar conta delas son tan escasos como os seus recursos. Válidos si, mais escasos e xa que logo as máis das veces inefectivos. Cómpre pois que cando menos nos obxectivos comúns, nas loitas que son de todos e de todas, que non son poucas, sexamos quen de coordinarnos para exercer a presión da que sen dúbida somos capaces. Se temos loitas globais fortes, teremos loitas locais críbeis e efectivas.
Un Foro Social, urxente e necesario
Alén das loitas locais ou sectoriais de cadaquén –xa dixemos que imprescíndíbeis e sobre todo básicas, irrenunciábeis– os movementos galegos aínda non acertamos a confluír en accións e manifestacións conxuntas que amosen un noso “poder” como voces da sociedade civil, un poder hogano máis potencial que real. Perder ocasións como a que nós mesmos, os movementos, consensuamos hai case un ano cando no Día de Mobilización e Acción Global do 26X decidimos unanimemente camiñar cara a un Foro Social Galego sería imperdoábel. E inxusto para as nosas causas.
O FSGal non vai ser, loxicamente, a solución, pois nin é unha nova entidade, nin unha representación magna da sociedade civil, senón só un espazo de reflexión, de intercambio e de artellamento de loitas. A solución está nas mans dos movementos –xa formen parte do proceso do FSGal ou non–e do seu traballo. Mais o FSGal, como proceso horizontal e autofinanciado e xestionado polos movementos, si pode ter dous efectos extremadamente necesarios e sobre todo urxentes.
En primeiro lugar, a nivel interno pode contribuír á reafirmación das loitas, o artellamento doutras en forma de alianzas, de redes, de campañas…, o intercambio de experiencias, a aprendizaxe e a formación, a recarga enerxética do e da activista, o exercicicio do poder da palabra e da imaxinación.
En segundo lugar, a nivel externo, xa o dixemos, o foro pode ser un excelente espazo para a visibilización das nosas propostas, un necesario abrirse á sociedade para que esta comprobe que si que existen, que os movementos sociais galegos son reais, loitan, traballan, teñen alternativas e ademais son quen de confluír no obxectivo común de cambiar as cousas.
É por isto que a presenza masiva e activa nos debates que propuxeron os movementos sociais, nos espazos transversais e na carpa de colectivos –na que terán espazo todos os que sexan adherentes do FSGal– resultaría un golpe de efecto fundamental para afrontar o noso labor como forxadores de alternativas á nociva orde imperante.
A Asemblea de Movementos Sociais
O primeiro fin de semana de decembro é pois unha ocasión fabulosa, se cadra histórica, para facernos ver, mais tamén para tomar decisións entre todos e todas as que participen na nova Asemblea de Movementos Sociais que pechará o evento o día 7 ao mediodía. Da dita asemblea, autoconvocada e aberta a todas as persoas e colectivos do país, ao noso xuízo debería saír o consenso para consolidar o FSGal como espazo periódico de intercambio entre os movementos, mais sobre todo, deberían poñerse enriba da mesa unha serie de accións concretas que todos asumamos para desenvolver durante 2009. Da reflexión necesaria, á acción imprescindíbel.
Dende Altermundo pedimos xa que logo a todos os movementos sociais galegos, dende os independentistas aos anarquistas, dende os de labregas e labregos aos sindicalistas, dende os ecoloxistas aos de economía solidaria, dende as organizacións de cooperación ás de acción directa, aos artistas e intelectuais, ao mundo universitario, aos traballadores e traballadoras, a todos e todas as que acrediten que si, que outra Galiza e que outro Mundo son posíbeis, unha participación masiva e entusiasta no FSGal e na dita Asemblea de Movementos Sociais.
