Un auditorio emocionado, en cierto modo reconocido al fin como parte de esta Iglesia que quiere seguir siendo «partera» de la primavera, escuchó la larga carta, «una confesión», enviada por el arzobispo de Tánger, el franciscano Santiago Agrelo. Un texto emocionante y emocionado que se unió al de otro profeta, también obispo, Pedro Casaldáliga.

En su mensaje («la forma es la de una carta, pero el fondo es el de una confesión»), Agrelo confiesa que «me movía el deseo -arriesgado- de dejarme ver -obispo en un Congreso de la Asociación Juan XXIII». «Estar ahí, sólo eso, hubiera sido un mensaje elocuente, sugerente, eficaz».

«Quería estar ahí porque entiendo que todos somos del Señor, que trabajamos todos por el Reino de Dios, y que todos amamos a Cristo», añade la carta, que incide que » para mí, estar entre vosotros hubiese significado romper con la ideología y dar la palabra al evangelio, a Cristo Jesús».
