Ante la aclamación general y evaluación positiva de la primera visita del Papa Francisco a Brasil en ocasión de la Jornada Mundial de la Juventud (JMJ), cualquier ensayo crítico puede no ser bienvenido. Pero, después de tantos años de lucha «¡Ay de mí si callar!». Por eso, van a continuación unas pocas líneas y breves reflexiones, para compartir algunas percepciones reflexiones desde el lugar de las mujeres.
No quiero comentar los discursos del Papa Francisco y ni la alegría que muchos de nosotros/as sentir la simpatía, cariño y la proximidad de Francisco. La primera es sobre la entrevista del Papa en el avión de regreso a Roma, cuando se le preguntó sobre la ordenación de mujeres y dijo que el tema estaba cerrado, o sea dijo NO. Y agregó que una «teología de la mujer” debía hacerse y que la Virgen María era superior a los Apóstoles, por tanto nada de anhelar un lugar diferente para las mujeres.
La segunda observación se refiere a la identificación del nuevo catolicismo juvenil con cierta tendencia carismática muy en boga en la iglesia católica hoy. Esto debería llevarnos a cuestiones muy serias, más allá de nuestra sed de tener líderes inspirados que hablen a nuestro corazón y que renuncien a los discursos teológicos racionalistas y dogmáticos del pasado.
¿Cómo puede el Papa Francisco simplemente ignorar la fuerza del movimiento feminista y su expresión en la teología católica feminista hace más de tres o cuatro décadas dependiendo de los lugares?
Me espantó también el hecho de que haya afirmado que podríamos tener más espacios en pastoral, cuando, en realidad, en todas las parroquias católicas, son las mujeres mayoritariamente quienes llevan adelante los muchos proyectos misioneros. Soy consciente de que estas palabras en relación a las mujeres, pocos palabras sin duda, se limitan a un viaje de vuelta a casa, por tanto, no pueden y no deben crear sombras a una visita tan exitosa. Teología feminista tiene una larga historia en muchos países del mundo y una larga y marginada historia en las instituciones católicas, especialmente en América Latina. Publicaciones en estudios bíblicos, Teología, Liturgia, Ética, Historia de la Iglesia, han poblado las bibliotecas de muchas escuelas de de Teología en diferentes países. También han circulado en muchos entornos laicos interesados por la novedad tan llena de nuevos sentidos. Y estos textos no son estudiados en las principales facultades de teología, sobre todo, por el futuro clero en formación y en los institutos de vida consagrada. La oficialidad de la iglesia no les da derecho de ciudadanía porque la producción intelectual de las mujeres todavía se considera inadecuada a la racionalidad teológica masculina. Y, además, constituye una amenaza para el poder masculino vigente en las iglesias. La mayoría [del clero] no conoce lo que existe como publicaciones y como formación alternativa organizada, así también desconoce los nuevos paradigmas es propuesto por estas teologías contextuales y plurales.
Desconoce su fuerza inclusiva y el llamado a la responsabilidad histórica de nuestros actos. La mayoría de los hombres de la iglesia y los fieles siguen viviendo como si la teología fuese una ciencia eterna basada en verdades eternas y enseñó principalmente por hombres y, secundariamente, por las mujeres según la ciencia masculina establecida. Niegan la historicidad de los textos, la contextualidad de posiciones y razones. Desconocen las nuevas filosofías que informan el pensamiento teológico feminista, las hermenéuticas bíblicas y las nuevas aproximaciones éticas.
Papa Francisco, por favor, infórmese en Google sobre algunos aspectos de la teología feminista, al menos del mundo católico. ¡Tal vez su posible interés pueda abrir otros caminos para percibir el pluralismo del género en la producción teológica! Una vez más, cómo decir, tal vez en forma de consuelo, que la Virgen María es mayor que los apóstoles es, una vez más, una expresión de consuelo abstracto de la teología masculina. Se ama a la Virgen lejana y enfocada en la intimidad personal, pero no se escuchan los clamores de las mujeres de carne y hueso. Me temo que muchos fieles y pastoralistas necesitados del papa bueno, el padre espiritual, del Papa que ama todos, se rindan ante simpática y amorosa figura de Francisco y fortalezcan un nuevo clericalismo masculino y una nueva forma de adulación del papado. El papa Ratzinger nos llevó a una crítica del clericalismo y de la institución del papado a través de sus posturas rígidas. Pero, ahora con Francisco, parece que regresan nuestros fantasmas del pasado, ahora endulzados con la simple y fuerte figura de un papa capaz de renunciar al lujo de los palacios y los privilegios de su condición. Un papa que parece introducir un nuevo rostro público a esta institución que hizo historia y no siempre una bella historia en el pasado. El momento exige prudencia y una crítica alerta, no para desautorizar al Papa, sino para ayudarle a ser más nosotros, Iglesia, una iglesia plural y respetuosa de sus muchos rostros.
Mi segundo breve comentario es en relación con la necesidad de identificar a la mayoría de los grupos de jóvenes presentes en la Jornada aclamando cálidamente al papa. ¿En qué Evangelio y en que teología están siendo formando? ¿De dónde vienen ellos? ¿Qué están buscando? No tengo respuestas claras. Sólo sospechas e intuiciones en relación con la presencia predominante de una tendencia más carismática conservadora y más celebrativa en la línea Góspel. Expresiones de pasión por el Papa, de repentino e intenso amor que lleva a las lágrimas, a tocarlo, a vivir los milagros repentinos, a bailar y agitar el cuerpo han sido comunes en movimientos neo-pentecostales en sus manifestaciones.
Sin querer hacer sociología de la religión, creo que sabemos que estos movimientos buscan estabilidad social, por encima de las transformaciones políticas que procuran el derecho y la justicia para todos los ciudadanos y ciudadanas. Creo que corresponden, sin duda, al momento que estamos viviendo y responden a algunas de las necesidades inmediatas del pueblo. Sin embargo, hay otra cara del cristianismo que no pudo manifestarse en la Jornada. El cristianismo que aún inspira a la lucha de los movimientos sociales por vivienda, tierra, derechos LGBT, los derechos de las mujeres, los niños, los ancianos, etc.. Cristianismo de las comunidades de base (CEBs), de las iniciativas inspiradas en la teología de la liberación y la teología feminista de la liberación. Estas expresiones, aunque presente, fueron casi sofocados por la fuerza de aquello que la prensa quería fortalecer y, por lo tanto, era de su interés. Todo esto nos invita a pensar.
No hace una semana que el papa viajó y ahora los periódicos y las cadenas de televisión poco se ocupan de él. ¿Y lo que sucede en las comunidades católicas después esta apoteosis? ¿Cómo vamos a continuar nuestras jornadas cotidianas?
Además de la visita del Papa y una posible nueva forma del papado de Francisco, estamos siendo convidadas/os a pensar en la vida, a pensar los rumbos actuales de nuestra historia y a rescatar a lo más fuertes y preciosos que está presente en la tradición ética libertaria de los Evangelios. No basta decir que Jesús nos ama. Tenemos que descubrir cómo nos amamos y que estamos haciendo para crecer en la construcción de relaciones más justas y solidarias.
