Navidad en negro

“Porque tuve
hambre y me disteis de comer… … Cada vez
que lo hicisteis con uno de esos
más humildes,
lo hicisteis conmigo”

Una mujer dulce, del color
de las caobas en abril, tiritando
las ascuas de sus ojos,  besaba
el otro día en la pantalla
de mi televisión a su hijo (¡Dios!
lo llamó alguien de los que comentaban
el suceso), negro también
como ella, y reluciente, mientras
le limpiaba el salitre del mar y le bajaba
la fiebre con paños de agua fría
y mimitos de sus labios de miel.

Acababan de llegar los dos a una playa
llenita de guardias y alambradas
por si encontraban allí una mesa
dispuesta con sonrisas y pájaros
en vuelo, donde saciar
la sed y lavarse
las heridas del mar.

Habían dicho ¡Dios! en la televisión y yo
quedé rumiando por dentro, tiempo
y tiempo, como entre nieblas, removido,
porque el cura de mi pueblo, en Navidad,
todos los años nos da a besar
un Niño Dios distinto: blanco
y sonrosado, pelo arrubiado
y casi mofletudo, que saca
de un portal con luz eléctrica
donde está rodeado de pastores, ángeles
que tocan la zambomba, una mula
y un buey  y Reyes de púrpuras
y lino que le regalan
oro, incienso y mirra.

¡A ver quién me soluciona, por favor,
esta contradicción que me zahiere!: ¿era Dios
aquel niño del color del chocolate
y de las hambres, sarpullido
de fiebres, que nos traía el mar,
o tengo que seguir viéndolo
en el belén de la abuela en el pasillo
de casa, en la Misa del Gallo
con sonrisas e incienso, o al final
de la cena
en el champán de Navidad?

“El Verbo se hizo Carne
y habitó entre nosotros”

Ahora que inhabitas mi carne, Niño
de la Epifanía, y sabes que mis ojos, dolidos
ya de sombras, apenas
si descubren los asideros de la barca
en la que zozobramos; y que ha enmohecido
el pan en los armarios de los pobres; y que pasan,
rugientes, vendavales amamantados
en las altas torres de Babel -torres KIO,
torres Petronas, Wall Street, el Lehman
Brothers-; y hay corvos picos sedientos
de pájaros negros –el Ídolo
y la Bestia- acechando
desde las altas cúpulas marmóreas
del Templo y de las Patrias,
abre
nuevamente corredores de luz a mis pies
de Sísifo, fortalece
mis hombros a punto de derrotas, prende
los leños entumecidos de mi estancia.
Por si aliviaras, Niño, los agrios
fríos de este invierno
con el fulgor
de tus bienaventuranzas.

No imploro sino el mismo
calor de tus manos que acarició
la frente de los niños en las plazas
cuando abril, que roturó las cárcavas
leprosas y dibujó
nuevos amaneceres en las cuencas
vacías de los ciegos. El mismo
que sembró los pedregales y las sendas
de horizontes azules y de espigas.
Que sea
también bálsamo de Luz para estas
manos mías, heridas
de soledumbres y de olvidos.

Cuando cae hoy la tarde
hacia la noche y están
ardiendo ahí fuera los fuegos
de artificio de la Farsa, solo
espero de ti, Niño de la Navidad,
un ardoroso beso de Luz que incendie
nuevamente la tibia
