O párroco da parroquia dos domincios en Vallecas escribe estas palabras sobre o compañeiro Julio Lois que finou hai uns días:
Han aparecido en la prensa muchos testimonios sobre Julio Lois después de su muerte, acaecida el 22 de agosto de 2011.
Creo que es necesario completar todos estos testimonios con los de su labor pastoral de más de treinta años en una parroquia de Vallecas. Porque Julio Lois trabajó pastoralmente en la Parroquia Santo Tomás de Villanueva durante esos últimos treinta años.
Se trata de una Parroquia encomendada a una comunidad de dominicos, y de la que él fue siempre el coadjutor.
Yo le conocí en el Instituto de Pastoral durante el curso 1977-78, siendo alumno suyo de cristología y de teología de la liberación. Recuerdo sus clases siempre llenas hasta rebosar, con gente muy diversa, que salía entusiasmada de sus clases teológicas.
En el año 1980 me encuentro de nuevo con Julio Lois. En ese año, Alberto Iniesta me nombra párroco de Santo Tomás de Villanueva. Como Julio Lois vivía en el territorio de la parroquia, le invitamos a colaborar con nosotros en la pastoral de la misma.
Esta colaboración de Julio desde los primeros momentos provocó en nosotros una gran satisfacción. Él se lamentaba, en algunas ocasiones, de que su trabajo como profesor le impedía estar más tiempo en la parroquia. Pero yo le decía siempre que lo importante no era la cantidad sino la calidad de su tiempo dedicado a la parroquia.
Julio participaba siempre en las celebraciones. Recuerdo con cariño y con dolor las últimas homilías suyas al final del curso pasado, cuando llevaba ya muchos meses con quimioterapia. Él hablaba con una fuerza llamativa, sentado en la sede para no cansarse.
Además participaba en las varias pequeñas comunidades de la parroquia, en el grupo bíblico, en las charlas que le pedían las catequistas, etc. Con profundidad teológica, sabía indicarnos a todos como se debían orientar los temas de la vida cristiana y su conexión con el compromiso social y político. Su preocupación por la marginación en el mundo le abrió generosamente las manos a través de Cáritas parroquial y de la ONG Acción Verapaz.
Desde el primer momento colaboró también en la Asociación Vecinal del barrio, con un compromiso que se mantuvo hasta el final. Y, dentro de la Asociación Vecinal, colaboró con la Escuela de Personas Adultas, hasta que comenzó el curso de su enfermedad. Al final de sus días, le decía a uno de los vecinos: seguiré presente entre vosotros.
Al mismo tiempo que sentimos el vacío de su ausencia, reconocemos la calidad de su vida profundamente cristiana. Durante los últimos días de su vida le gustaba incluso cantar: “Que no caiga la fe, que no caiga la esperanza…”
Julio Lois será siempre un aliciente de vida humana y cristiana para todos los que le conocimos.
