Veamos:
Casi la mitad de los jóvenes menores de 25 años está en paro, una generación perdida, posiblemente la mejor preparada de nuestra historia. Más de la mitad de los pensionistas cobran una pensión que los sitúa bajo el umbral de la pobreza. Y no reaccionamos. Menos de la mitad de la población activa tiene un contrato indefinido a tiempo completo, un empleo generador de derechos sociales, como el derecho a una jubilación digna. Crece en número de pobres: ¡9 millones!, que se dice muy pronto. La pobreza infantil alcanza al 25%. El derecho a una vivienda, a la educación, a la atención sanitaria, al desempleo, a una pensión digna… desaparece, se recorta o se limita mientras se nos empuja a contratar esos servicios con los que nos han conducido a la ruina. Los que con su ambición han provocado esta crisis, los que toman las decisiones tras “los mercados”, han conseguido que entre todos los salvemos de la ruina. Ahora le dicen a nuestro gobierno lo que debe hacer para salir de la misma, y nuestro gobierno ejecuta sus órdenes para garantizar sus beneficios a costa de nuestra ruina. Y no reaccionamos.
El pasado 15 de mayo los indignados salimos a la calle, prueba de que antes no lo habíamos hecho, en cincuenta ciudades. Fuimos una multitud con multitud de mensajes llenos de ingenio: “Me sobra mucho mes al final del sueldo”; “Esto no es una crisis, es una estafa”. Otros llevaban su título de licenciado colgado del pecho, o la cartilla del desempleo. Y todos clamando democracia de verdad.
Este paso es importantísimo, porque por fin nos mostramos indignados y lo manifestamos públicamente. Ahora queda un largo camino de organización, movilización y gestión de todo como respuesta a los problemas que tenemos. Pero esto será sólo la parte menos importante. El trabajo duro que debemos acometer es depurar las motivaciones que nos impulsan, si no queremos reproducir la ética y la moral de los que nos han conducido hasta aquí. ¿Somos conscientes de que nos han inoculado el virus del individualismo y de la satisfacción individual del tener y el poseer? Si pretendemos defender la dignidad humana sin cuestionar ni lo uno ni la otra, el resultado será la reproducción del hábitat cultural que nos ha conducido a esta situación; aun en el caso de que hayamos conseguido un empleo y nuestro horizonte personal se haya despejado.
El gran reto que tenemos es mostrar que no hay salida individual, que la salida individual es la suya, la del neoliberalismo; que frente a ella solo cabe la salida de la donación, la experiencia de que la única manera de luchar por mis problemas es luchando por los problemas de los otros. Es la experiencia del amor la que esconde el secreto de la felicidad humana: el que entrega su vida a otros por amor, la recupera renovada, plena y radiante.
Así que, ¡Indígnate! ¡Reacciona! y ¡Actúa! ante la injusticia cometida contra el otro, pero no busques tu salida, esa se te dará por añadidura.
