Juan Torres fai un chamamento ante a situación:
Hace un par de meses, un grupo de amigos de diferentes sensibilidades políticas pero que ya tenemos muchos kilómetros recorridos, pensamos que había que hacer algo ante la situación de falta de respuestas eficaces y de desunión ante todo lo que estaba pasando. Hicimos una convocatoria restringida a otras cuarenta o cincuenta personas. Casi todas aceptaron venir, o al menos mostraron su acuerdo si no les fue posible estar presentes. Hablamos de lo que sentíamos y percibíamos y acordamos volver a convocar pero ahora a muchas más.
Nos ha costado trabajo ponernos en marcha porque detrás de nosotros no hay ninguna organización pero ya lo hemos conseguido. Hemos convocado un encuentro para el próximo día 19 de febrero en Madrid con el propósito de comprometernos a promover la convergencia más amplia posible de todas las personas, movimientos, asociaciones u organizaciones que estamos en desacuerdo con lo que está pasando en España, con el recorte de derechos laborales y sociales, con la aplicación de políticas al dictado de los poderes financieros, con el deterioro de nuestra democracia, con el aumento de la pobreza que están provocando y, sobre todo, que tenemos la convicción de que hay otros modos de hacer las cosas, que no queremos renunciar a que la justicia sea una aspiración efectiva y permanente y que estamos dispuestos a vivir bajo otros valores que no sean los de la ganancia sin freno, la competencia y el individualismo.
Ya no es momento de quedarse parados delante de una pantalla de ordenador. Hay que ir al encuentro de las mujeres y hombres que tienen nuestros mismos problemas e inquietudes y valores semejantes. Tenemos que vernos las caras, hablar de lo que pasa y actuar conjuntamente. Por eso hemos propuesto constituir en cada rincón de España mesas de convergencia en las que la gente corriente, sea o no de un partido o de otro, o esté o no organizada, ponga su esfuerzo en común y ayude a quien tiene a su lado.
Es la hora de que entre todos forjemos una voz de la calle que impida que solo se oigan las de siempre, las que solo saben repetir que hay que bajar salarios, recortar el gasto social, salvar a los bancos y hacer lo que ellos digan que tenemos que hacer.
Hemos abierto un blog en el que se encuentra la carta de convocatoria y un llamamiento muy elemental. No se trata de formar un partido, ni de elaborar, al menos de momento, un programa de actuación. Nos une ahora una declaración de intenciones muy simple pero radical porque apunta a las raíces de los problemas que tenemos y una serie de medidas que creemos que hay que exigir inmediatamente a los poderes públicos para evitar que la situación económica, social y política empeore aún más.
Sabemos que muchos nos tachan de ingenuos y utópicos porque le estamos diciendo a la gente que, en lugar de mantenerse al abrigo de una vida más o menos cómoda (de momento), tiene que complicarse la existencia y despertar del letargo. Puede que nos digan eso pero lo que no van a poder decirnos nunca es que renunciamos a luchar por la justicia o a decirles a los mismos de siempre que ya está bien.
