Esperaba que el G-20, ante la crisis financiera mundial, destinaría recursos para reducir mi incidencia global. Según las Metas del Milenio, de la ONU, bastarían US$ 500 mil millones para erradicar el hambre crónica que hoy castiga a 950 millones de personas.
Los gobernantes del G-20 sufren de hiperopía, lo contrario de miopía: miran muy mal de cerca. En vez de debatir cómo librar al mundo de mi presencia decidieron destinar US$ 1,1 billones para “salvar el mercado”, entiéndase el FMI, el Banco Mundial, las grandes empresas y bancos, o sea los responsables de la crisis.
El capitalismo neoliberal se dio un tiro en su propio pie. Y ahora apela a las arcas públicas para socorrer a los ‘pobres’ millonarios que acostumbran a trasformar la inyección de recursos en bonos astronómicos para los ejecutivos de empresas en riesgo de quiebra.
¡Qué decepción del G-20! Pensé que pondría fin a los paraísos fiscales. En vez de cerrar el burdel decidió divulgar el nombre de los usuarios. ¡Viva el imperio de las naranjas! Ya debe haber gente abriendo empresas capaces de dividir la tarta del narcotráfico y de la corrupción en porciones más saboreables.
¿Por qué el G-20 no prohibió a los gobiernos, empresas y personas físicas tener activos en paraísos fiscales o asociarse a instituciones establecidas en ellos? La respuesta es obvia: encargó a la zorra que custodiara el gallinero…
Varios países europeos son verdaderos edenes para las financias turbias: Suiza, Luxemburgo, Bélgica, Austria, la City de Londres, etc. ¿Quién garantiza que esos feudos de riqueza ilícita (por lo menos evasora de impuestos en sus países de origen) van a quebrantar el secreto bancario de sus clientes, como desea el G-20?
¿Y por qué entregar toda esa fortuna de US$ 1,1 billones al FMI, de triste memoria? Todos sabemos que se trata de una institución tutelada por la Casa Blanca y la política exterior usamericana; que mete la nariz en las finanzas de los países que le piden dinero prestado; que impone medidas económicas que favorecen las privatizaciones, el aumento de la desigualdad social, la oligopolización de empresas y bancos, etc.
En resumen: los contribuyentes, o sea el pueblo, que paga más impuestos, está compulsivamente convocado a canalizar fortunas para intentar superar la crisis financiera de los dueños del mundo. Éstos temen que, sin créditos, los países emergentes dejen de comprar productos manufacturados de las naciones ricas, aumentando el desempleo, y sigan el ejemplo del Ecuador, que decretó una moratoria mientras dure la crisis.
Antes de pensar en contribuir con US$ 10 mil millones para la “alcancía” del FMI, el Brasil debiera curarse de la hiperopía y mirar un poco más hacia mí: con esa actitud yo sería progresivamente erradicada y habría aquí más educación, menos violencia urbana y por tanto más cualificación profesional y menos desempleo.
