Los miembros del Foro de Curas de Madrid, después de un año especialmente dedicado al análisis de la situación de la Iglesia en general y de nuestra diócesis, parroquias y de las comunidades cristianas en particular, ante el inminente relevo de nuestro obispo y el próximo aniversario del 50 aniversario de la clausura del Concilio vaticano II, hemos querido enviaros esta carta con la intención de compartir con vosotras y vosotros algunas de nuestras preocupaciones y buscar conjuntamente soluciones prácticas e imaginativas a los desafíos que nos afectan como iglesia local.

No está en nuestro ánimo agobiaros en esta ocasión con nuevas cifras de la escalofriante crisis que estamos atravesando. Más bien queremos haceros llegar nuestra complicidad en esa larga lucha que con tanta generosidad y coraje estáis llevando contra la exclusión y el empobrecimiento de la gente en nuestros barrios y parroquias. Esto nos llena de satisfacción porque de sobra sabemos que, por el hecho de pertenecer voluntariamente a la Iglesia, en modo alguno se debilita sino que se acrecienta la solidaridad radical que mantenemos con el resto de la ciudadanía. Lo decía muy gráficamente el Vaticano II en el preámbulo de la constitución Gaudium et Spes (n. 1).
