Gustavo Gutiérrez: «Los mismos pobres tienen que ser los agentes de su liberación»

Es el padre de la Teología de la Liberación, condenada durante décadas y ahora rehabilitada en la persona y en la vida del Papa Francisco con quien, según diversas fuentes, se encontró este martes Gustavo Gutiérrez, antes de la presentación del libro «Pobre y para los pobres. La misión de la Iglesia», escrito por el prefecto Müller con la aportación del teólogo peruano y prólogo de Bergoglio. El sacerdote fue el gran protagonista, recibiendo una sonora ovación.

Tras la misma, Gutiérrez conversó de modo informal con algunos periodistas, precisando que «los teólogos de la liberación no fueron marxistas», aunque sí reconoció que hubo «gente comprometida y que tenían una base teológica». «Los mismos pobres tienen que ser los agentes de su liberación», incidió el teólogo, quien quiso dejar claro que ni Juan Pablo II ni Benedicto XVI condenaron jamás su teología, sino que solicitaron una «contextualización».

Interrogado por Zenit sobre quienes eran los que desviaban la teología de la liberación dándole una matriz marxista, el sacerdote peruano respondió: «No Boff, no Sobrino, no Juan Luis Segundo, no Ronaldo Muñoz, o sea, diría que los teólogos no» y añadió que «claro, hubo gente muy comprometida antes y que tenían una base teológica, pero no eran los que hacían teología».

Añadió que «muchos de ellos era gente muy generosa, lo que no significa tener razón». Y añadió que «un seguimiento político hubo en algunos países». Y cuando se dice dimensión política precisó que se entiende «una dimensión política extraviada, incorrecta y hay siempre gente así».

El padre Gutiérrez consideró además, que hoy existe un clima más favorable, «sí, porque se saben mejor algunas cosas, en teología las ciencias sociales antes no aparecían nunca. Hace más de cuarenta años cuando nació la teología de la liberación estas estuvieron presentes y no solamente la filosofía. Hoy en día los estudios bíblicos están llenos de sociología y nadie dice nada, porque se acostumbraron», dijo.

Respondiendo a una periodista indicó que «el clima y el contexto ha cambiado mucho, los temas de la teología de la liberación están más presentes», como «pobreza, justicia». En particular dijo, «la idea que los mismos pobres tienen que ser los agentes de su liberación, y este fue un punto que estuvo desde el inicio de la teología de la liberación».
